1. In today's interconnected world, culture's power to transform societies is clear. Its diverse manifestations - from our cherished historic monuments and museums to traditional practices and contemporary art forms - enrich our everyday lives in countless ways. Heritage constitutes a source of identity and cohesion for communities disrupted by bewildering change and economic instability. Creativity contributes to building open, inclusive and pluralistic societies. Both heritage and creativity lay the foundations for vibrant, innovative and prosperous knowledge societies.

Culture is who we are and what shapes our identity. In September 2015 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the sustainable goals. UNESCO ensures that the role of culture is recognized through a majority of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including those focusing on quality education, sustainable cities, the environment, economic growth, sustainable consumption and production patterns, peaceful and inclusive societies, gender equality and food security.

No development can be sustainable without a strong culture component. Indeed only a human-centered approach to development based on mutual respect and open dialogue among cultures can lead to lasting, inclusive and equitable results. Yet until recently, culture has been missing from the development strategy.

To ensure that culture takes its rightful place in development strategies and processes, UNESCO has adopted an approach: it spearheads worldwide advocacy for culture and development, while engaging with the international community to set clear policies and legal frameworks and working on the ground to support governments and local stakeholders to safeguard heritage, strengthen creative industries and encourage cultural pluralism.

2. On books and how to read them

Books are the best of things, well used; abused, among the worst. What is the right use? What is the one end which all means go to effect? They are for nothing but to inspire. I had better never see a book, than to be warped by its attraction clean out of my own orbit, and made a satellite instead of a system. The one thing in the world, of value, is the active soul. This every man is entitled to; this every man contains within him, although, in almost all men, obstructed, and as yet unborn. .. The book, the college, the school of art, the institution of any kind, stop with some past utterance of genius. This is good, say they,- -let us hold by this.

第二，构建开放型亚太经济。开放是亚太合作的生命线。要坚持开放的地区主义，以2040年愿景为指引，推进区域经济- -体化，早日建成高水平亚太自由贸易区。....

第三，促进创新增长和数字经济发展。 创新是引领世界发展的重要动力。要坚持创新驱动大方向，点燃数字经济新引擎，让数字技术的成果惠及更多亚太地区人民。实现包容可持续发展。....

第四，要坚持人与自然和谐共生，积极应对气候变化，促进绿色低碳转型，努力构建地球生命共同体。中国将力争2030年前实现碳达峰、2060年前实现碳中和，支持发展中国家发展绿色低碳能源。

2. 桂林人的一-天，是从一碗米粉开始的。 “老板，一个二，一个三”这是桂林人的默契。桂林米粉起源于近郊农民的劳作便餐，俗称“吃晌午”、“嗦米粉” 。旧时，米粉的商贩们经常挑着担子走街串巷的叫卖,所以桂林米粉也叫担子米粉。著名艺术家丰子恺称这样的担子为“移动的微型厨房”,桂林米粉也被后人誉为“快餐界的鼻祖”。

清澈甘甜的漓江水和优质的桂林特产大米，是制作米粉不可或缺的原料。山间谷米，漓水原浆，成就了桂林米粉独有的品质。

卤水是桂林米粉的灵魂。俗话说:桂戏的腔，米粉的汤。这汤，说的就是卤水。很多粉店的卤水秘方都是代代相传，私传秘授，又各自精彩。

二两米粉，一碗乡愁。对于生长在这片土地上的桂林人来说，米粉的滋味里藏着温暖和柔情。那双筷子还在老家筷筒;那碗米粉还在老家碗中;那扇老门还在梦里打开;那个味道还在山水间，等我重......

桂林米粉发展至今，从一种快餐变成了匠人的坚守;从巷口风味成为了游客山水行必尝的美食;从乡味乡愁成为连接桂林与世界的文化桥梁。2021年桂林米粉制作技艺成功入选第五批国家级非物质文化遗产代表性项目名录。
